From what I remember, many of you are big anime and manga fans, so I assume many of you know about this event. For those who are unaware, however, I thought it might be something worth noting and mentioning to your teen patrons.
There will be a huge anime convention called Oni-Con Oct. 19-21. I have not had any luck accessing the website (it continues to freeze up on me) but last year's con was held at the George R. Brown convention center and I see no reason they would change it. I did find some info on a fan site, which listed the following as special guest appearances: actors Xero Reynolds, Vic Mignogna, Travis Willingham, Mike McFarland, Michael Coleman, Kyle Hebert, Josh Grelle, Clarine Harp, Steve Prince, Tiffany Grant; directors Chris Bevins, Christopher Ayres; animator Samantha Inoue Harte; videographer MarzGurl; artists Bruce Lewis, Aaron Romo, Chris Moujaes, Michael "Mookie" Terracciano, Steve Bennett.
This is guaranteed to be a fun event for any teen patron you have that loves anime and manga. I personally have never been, but know people who have and heard about all the excitement. Most people really get into it. Some dress up in extravagant costumes, known as cosplay, based on their favorite characters. There are tons of booths, games, and activities. Last year there was a rave, or techno dance, that was a huge hit at night. It seems a spectacular event that will wow even the most timid fan.

Jason,
I won't be able to attend. If you go, please tell all of us about it. (I'm attending a software engineering conference at UH on Sat. 10/20 - it's free).
